| | | Unidentified micro moth on micklemas daisy.
My wife Margaret spotted this tiny moth sitting in the centre of a micklemas daisy flower and took this shot.
Cannot identify it from my moth books but there are so many of these moths that all look so similar.
Can anyone please help with iedntification?
Thank you,
Brian. |

Cheers,
Adam | Thanks Adam your contribution is really appreciated.
Reason for delay in responding is that we have just returned from a very wet week in Wales where photogrpahy was difficult!!

| | | Re: Unidentified micro moth on micklemas daisy. I have one like this, Dichrorampha vancouverana I think.
Another I have in the same place has more defined yellow arcs which is Dichrorampha petiverella, others more like yours and I'm assuming they are different moths. They are both always around the Achillea which is a food plant.
Look on Hants Moths, the example is more like yours.
Janet

Janet | Janet please accpet my apologies for the delay in responding but we have been away in a very wet Wales - rain every day expect a cloudy Friday so photography was difficult.
I do appreciate you suggsetions and comments and you are spot on when you talk about Achillea as that is growing in our garden and may be influential in adding to the number of moths we trap and release.
We are a couple of OAP 'crumblies' who have an interest in wildlife photography but have poor knowledge when it comes to insect identification. Such help as you offered is welcomed.
Thank you again,
