| | | Help with ID please (Staffs area) Another one I'm struggling with. I'm thinking Dark Arches or Nutmeg but neither seem quite right (stigmata look different). Help to ID would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Phil |

| | | Re: Help with ID please (Staffs area) Darch Arches looks correct other than the oval and kidney shapes being joined, I had this last year and again last night. I looked at the others in the same genus and none match so it could be a variation. Wait for someone who really knows though!
Janet

Yes, that was my thought. I've also trawled several sites since but got no closer to it. Maybe a variation as you say.
Thanks,

| | | Re: Help with ID please (Staffs area) Phil, the Dark Arches I had also has a partial joining of the stigmata. It didn't settle but I got one good wing.
Look at the pic on UKMoths, the kidney has a raised bump on the top so it must be a variation.

I took these on 15th June.

| | | Re: Help with ID please (Staffs area) Hi Janet,
Checked UK Moths and see what you mean about the bump on the kidney. The other markings do tie up. Also, there's no doubt about the caterpillar. Thanks for your help with this one; I appreciate the responses
