| | | Re: two moths and a boatman?..i.d. help please I'm not so sure that the term Waterboatman is applicable here. I believe that the third specimen is a Corixia sp., rather than a Notonecta sp. In my part of the world (North East England) the common English term 'Waterboatman' is only applied to Notonecta species.
However it's not the first or the last time that English names or terminology differs around the country.
To identify the last speciemen to species level you will need the specimen, a set of keys for the aquatic Hemiptera and a good lens or microscope.

wow...thats amazing....im very impressed with the boatman, whichever species, and, as usual when these things happen, wont look at a waterboatman in quite the same way anymore...these are the surprises i love....thanks for the info....
