I was walking the dogs yesterday evening and came across a couple of SSBM's mating, and then another, and then lots more. It must have been the weather.

Insects hah! ,there is no stopping them,Deecee.I'd say that this was either a Five- spot Burnet or the very similar Narrow-bordered Five-spot Burnet.

Would you know if these are six spot as well, spotted at Arbroath, Scotland,
( forgive the pun ) and how rare are they.

Six-spotted Burnet are quite likely to be spotted() as they are common.Oh and yours is a Six-spot.
