Moth for ID please

Eckington Wood 27 June 2010

Found in a meadow at Eckington Wood whilst on a wildlife foray with FungiJohn

Would appreciate a little help with the ID of this little moth.

Agree with Straw Dot - quite a distinctive scorch-mark-like marking on the lower-half of the wing.

Many thanks for the ID guys, it certainly sits well with the location, and as it didnt want to fly away, despite the attention we were giving it,

it would seem that it is also nocturnal by preference.
