| | | ID A Micromoth I saw today, very plain, biege brown in colour, no redeeming markings and no other colours (maybe paler underneath), this moth liked the long grasses to settle on.

How about Straw Dot? Pale brown, markings may be reduced by wear or variation, my experience of them has been settling on grass in grassland... A photo would help, but couldn't see one in the Image Archive or a mention that you didn't have one.

Possibly a Straw Dot Moth, however are there more plain moths than this one? i.e. without any notable markings or dots at all.
I also saw a similar moth last night to a Straw Dot, however it had a wide white bar across the centre of the wings. Any ideas also on this one please?
