| | | eyed hawk moth Hi,
Last August I was lucky enough to find an eyed hawk moth catterpilar in the garden, I kept it in a container and it pupated. I was expecting the moth to emerge in early may but theres still been no sign of it.
has the Moth died or is it still not ready to emerge.
Thanks,
Miles. |

If the pupae is still soft and the tip moves when gently touched there is still a chance it will hatch. If it's rigid and feels hollow, it didn't make it. There is some useful past info relating to Eyed hawkmoths on the Wild About Britain site.
