| | | Plume Moth query The two moths below showed up on my wall last night (no moth trap so I'm using the outside light to attract them).
The first has got me stumped as the illustrations I've found of White Plume Moth, Pterophorus pentadactyla don't show such obvious markings. (Daylight photo but blue-green colour cast isn't accurate)
1.
The closest I can find to the second seems to be Tamarisk Plume, Agdistus Tamarisicus but I can't find it on the micro-moth list on MothsIreland. Night photo with flash but the colour is close to what I saw.
2.
Clueless beginner so thoughts and ID clarification much appreciated! |

| | | Re: Plume Moth query Reached page 64 in the Moth Gallery and found Emmelina monodactyla that looks a good possibility for Q1 and Amblyptilia punctidactyla or A. acanthadactyla seem possible for Q2 .......? |

| | | Re: Plume Moth query Evening Jenny,
I was going to suggest these very two earlier, but something didn't quite look right... still, they are the most likely I'd have thought so will tentatively agree until I have a better look tomorrow!
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: Plume Moth query I would agree with Emmelina monodactyla for the first and would go with Amblyptilia acanthadactyla for the 2nd.
Amblyptilia punctidactyla usually have a greyer look about them rather than the warm brown of a Amblyptilia acanthadactyla.
