| | | Re: Green Carpet and others 7. looks like a Garden Dart, and 8. a Small Fan Foot (I had one in my house last night).
I'm new to identifying moths and butterflies so I'm in the process of learning much! |

| | | Re: Green Carpet and others 6 looks like a Coxcomb Prominent and No. 3 could be a Dark Fruit-tree Tortrix rather than the Barred one - there are a few similar looking species of Tortrix and I'm not too familiar with them. The rest look OK to me and Flame Shoulder as Jason suggests looks OK too.

| | | Re: Green Carpet and others Thanks folks!
Having checked the Tortrix on ukmoths Dark Fruit-tree Tortrix seems closest to the one I've photographed, though I couldn't find a 3-barred.
Any suggestions for 9?

(Couple of books ordered and arriving soon!) | Can't be certain, but I think there's a good chance that No. 9 is a Common Marbled Carpet. Common in my garden at this time of year, they often stand with the wings closed. Some other carpets also do this. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
