| | | Narrow-bordered Five-spot Burnet? Is this a Narrow-bordered Five-spot Burnet? Seen yesterday on chalk grassland at Ivinghoe, Buckinghamshire.
Thanks

Yep looks good to me. The 5 spot Burnet moth is more of (but not exclusively) a coastal species. According to some authorities the Narrow-bordered 5 spot Burnet is thought to be more common than the 6 spot Burnet. I guess in some areas this may be the case.
Cheers,
Adam |

Cheers,
Adam | There are certainly a lot of Narrow-bordered 5-spot Burnets around Pitstone Hill, a couple of miles from Ivinghoe. But then I've also seen 6-spot Burnets at Wigginton a few miles further away. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
