2 Moths for ID please

1. I believe to be either an 'Uncertain' or a 'Rustic'


2. A Pug species, not sure which.

I'm new to identifying moths, I'll give it a go though.

The first picture appears to be an 'Uncertain', I would agree. However, I'm uncertain, excuse the pun.

The second picture is a 'Sloe Pug' I think?

I'm no expert either, but I'd say Rustic looks good for No 1. I think No 2 may be Common Pug?
I'm sure one of the more expert Moth fanciers on WAB will soon give us the answer

I could be wildly off the mark here, but maybe no2 is more like Small White Wave rather than a pug. I've never seen a pug that 'white' before.

Have compared with your suggestion & it doesn't look like it to me.
Having said that, I can't tie it down to a Pug either.
It just looked like one to me by way of the shape.

Looking at the faint pattern and the dark band at the top of abdomen,i would
have a stab at Freyer's Pug.

Looking on a certain website, it doesn't register that species for me to compare it to.
It bugs me when I can't find out what something is.
