| | | Noctua Pronuba Hi there,
I'm very new to this and am very excited to have discovered a very pretty moth in my garden this evening. I found a picture on Google and it's Noctua Pronuba. It was in the lawn and appeared very dozy. I did pick him up to move to a safer place in the borders and he did become more active. I placed him in a shrub and after observing for a few minutes he appeared to curl his wings to look almost like ears. Then a few minutes later the wings were perpendicular to his body, it was then that I was able to see his orange under wing.
As I say I'm very excited as since a child I've always loved looking around for bugs and things in the garden but have only just discovered this forum for likeminded people.
I'm not sure whether there is some kind of survey where moth sighting are recorded - if so can anyone point me in the right direction.
Happy spotting!
