| | | Two moths for ID please. Cannot ID these moths from my book, can anyone help.
Both were found at Parndon Meadows, Essex.
Scrubby grassland, red clover, buttercups, birds foot trefoil present.

| | | Re: Two moths for ID please. The first, I think, might be a Burnet Companion. The second is a Swift - the short antennae give that much away, but it could be either a well marked Common Swift (my best guess) or a less well marked Map-winged Swift. The Common Swift is slightly smaller and the Map-wing Swift has a chequered fringe to the fore-wing. I don't think this one is chequered (but the back lighting makes it difficult to be 100% sure) so that's why I suggest a Common Swift.
