Hi Peter and thank you (that was quick), what do you mean gone wrong, I did notice that it kept on falling off and then climbing back up again.

It looks like it hasn't fully expanded its wings for one reason or another (lack of space or just a faulty individual, it does happen). Looks rather battered as well, lots of the fuzz rubbed off the thorax, poor thing hasn't had the best little life

Shame as they are truly gorgeous moths when it all works out.

Thanks k4t3, I waited around for ages but apart from falling off and climbing back up the only other thing it did was move out of the sun, I would have liked to see it in full glory.
