1 Buff Arches
2 Dark/Grey Dagger- need to dissect for positive ID, though larvae are different.

aeshna5 is correct with his ID's.

Regarding dissection. This is done on the genitalia and the findings show whether male or female.

Dissection on genitalia is done to show which species it is and NOT whether it is Male or Female.

yeah i thought the dissection as to tell if it was different species, but what part when dissecting tells you this? thank you all

It's all to do with the shape of the genitalia. Different species show differently shaped 'bits' and so this can determine species. I've never done it myself (something to get into in the future!), so someone else may give you more detail

I was having a very senior moment when I typed that. I was just leaving for work and did a quick reply.

Of course it is to determine species. I know that and have mentioned it many times on other replies I have done. Why I said male & female is beyond me.
