| | Hummingbird Hawkmoth - Macroglossum stellatarum The images aren't as good as some in the Gallery but I am so happy to have seen this in my garden.
HAPPY HAPPY!!
Shame the wind was blowing the flowers around and I only had a fleeting glimpse as I was actually outside photographing bees as the moth buzzed past me. So I got 3 great things. Bees, a Garden Spider aparently drinking nectar and a Hummingbird Hawkmoth - Macroglossum stellatarum

| | | Re: Hummingbird Hawkmoth - Macroglossum stellatarum I have never seen one in the UK. But I have just got back from Skiathos where in the first week I saw one on the shrub next to the apartment. I was really excited, I didn't realise that up close they have such distinct features.
Then, it rained one of the days and I spotted one in the supermarket. I was following it all around the supermarket with my camera...the OH was disowning me and the greeks thought I was nuts. I nabbed a photo as he was humming around the sunglasses stand, he seemed to like his own reflection
