| | | Re: id verification please I agree with your Scoparia ambigualis for number 5. I think 7 is a Common Rustic/Lesser Common Rustic (you can't tell positively without genitalia examination) - not definite though. I'm more tempted to go for a Common Rustic/Lesser Common Rustic for number 8 as well - I'm prepared to be corrected there though! |

| | | Re: id verification please 1. Riband Wave (Remutata) this is the 'scarcer' variant of Rib Wave.
3. Copper Underwing - the only way of telling is via the labial palps. Svensson's has dark with a light tip, and Copper Underwing is all pale. Might be too late now as you have probs released them but for next time ----> http://ukmoths.org.uk/show.php?id=3827
7 & 8 Are both Rustic sp. either Common Rustic/Lesser Common Rustic but as Jenny correctly mentioned. It requires a genitalia examination.
All the best,
Jake

| | | Re: id verification please I am glad someone else has found that the averasata is the less common race. I too have my doubts about the 'scarcer' variant. I thought it might just be that I was as south as you can be but it appears that is not the case.
I very rarely get the averasata at home but see it frequently at work.
Cheers Jake
