| | | Hairy legs moth with white spots Hi I've lurked here for months whenever I needed to id some wildlife, the site is great as I am always able to get identifications withen a couple minutes of searching.
But I have a couple of ids i cant find answers too, this one is here but the other is in Insects and Invertebrates black long tail wasp or fly??? id please
here is the moth i would like id please:

| | | Re: Hairy legs moth with white spots Welcome to WAB  That one looks like a male Vapourer Moth to me, but I'm sure Adam or Charlie will soon be along to confirm or correct (or one of the other moth people on WAB). |

| | | Re: Hairy legs moth with white spots wow you guys are sure quick my other id question was also answered faster than a moving bullet. i double checked and i believe you got that spot on. and i found one of their larva a month or so back, so at least i know these are still around.

| | | Re: Hairy legs moth with white spots The females are wingless, but attract a male almost as fast as you get answers on WAB! We had one hatch from a chrysalis last year, and put her outside on a suitable plant and within an hour or so a male had arrived, much like the one in your photo. Amazing to see. See this thread too. |
