| | | Moth ID/confirmation I'm still going through some moths trapped a couple of weeks ago, trying to put names to them. Any help appreciated!
1. Is the moth on the right a Cabbage Moth?
2. I suspect this is a pug, but which? Neither angle photographed well :
3. Common Carpet?
4. Not sure:
5. One of the Marbled Minor types?
6. Not sure:
Thanks |

| | | Re: Moth ID/confirmation 1 Cabbage Moth
2 Green Pug from that angle
3 Carpet of some sort but fairly certain not Common
4 Could be a very worn Light Shades
Not sure, but the last two could both be Oligia spp. Just woken up and need more sleeps really.
Cheers,
Adam

| | | Re: Moth ID/confirmation I'd go for:
1. Cabbage Moth
2. a worn July Highflyer
3. Large Twin-spot Carpet
4. worn Clouded-bordered Brindle
5 & 6. Like Adam, I'd say these are probably Marbled Minor species of some kind.

| | | Re: Moth ID/confirmation Hi Rachel,
Sorry I havn't replied sooner.
1. Cabbage Moth
2. Green Pug (You can just make out the black cross line and several black dots going down the abdomen which discount July Highflyer, although a very strange pose for a pug!)
3. Large Twin-spot Carpet
4. Clouded-bordered Brindle (Very worn coming towards end of flight period)
5 & Minor sp. Need genitalia examination to be sure.
All the best
Jake
