| | | uv bulbs Hi, has anyone tried the uv compact 240v lightbulbs in a moth trap? i was thinking of putting together a very cheep trap using a blacklight bulb from maplins, a storage box from b&q and an old lampshade.
What do you think? |

| | | Re: uv bulbs I don't know the first thing about electrics, but it sounds to me as if it may work. The greater number of light frequencies reflecyed by a bulb, the greater number of species you will attract - so if they reflect UV as well as visible light then that's ideal.
What wattage are they? I guess they aren't going to be any lower than the 15W actinics you can get, but not anywhere near the 125W lamps?
At the end of the day - I suppose any light will attract moths - just depends on the numbers you want to potentially trap.
