| | | green and brown moth identification Hi,
This 1.5 to 2cm long moth came to my lamp last night (20th June). Am not even sure whether it is a micro or macro moth. Is anyone able to help me with identification??
Many thanks |

| | | Re: green and brown moth identification Hope I'm not going to wear out my warm welcome here with my id questions!! I afraid I still find the macros a hazard, let alone the micros - but everyone has to start somewhere We've been having some very late nights trying to identify our 'catches'. Thought I had a Sprawler but now I'm thinking Dark Arches.... ......I think insanity may beckon!
Is anyone able to recommend a good book on the micro moths? I realise we're talking thousands, so a guide to the common ones (if such a thing exists) would probably be a better starting point.

| | | Re: green and brown moth identification Generally the micros are published by family. For Pyralids you want: British Pyralid Moths - A Guide to their Identification by Barry Goater published by Harley Books ISBN 0 946589 08 9
The UKMoths website is also very good for identification purposes of micros as well.
Cheers,
Adam
