Black micro
Netted dozens of these from long meadow grass. Just plain black - no obvious markings.

Its a caddis fly. Not sure on the exact species.

Oh dear Thanks again Doddhound. It never occured to me as they were so small (about 5mm) & I didn't really look close enough to see that they were covered in hairs !
I'll try & make up for it by identifying it as one of the Beraeidae family, found along streams & marshes May - Aug. There are 3 genera & 4 species.
