| | | Day flying moth identity For the last 4 days I have seen what I presume to be a day flying moth in the same part of the garden. It settles in a delta position. The edges of its wings are bright pink, the rest of the outer wings are grey. Its inner wings are bright pink. I think it would be classed as small.
I haven,t seen it when I,ve taken a camera. |

Try The Cinnabar, Tyria jacobaeae... though not particularly diurnal (Day-flying), it can be seen around if disturbed. |

Cinnabars had been described as being black and red, but my moth was bright pink and grey, like the one PeterD has shown. Perhaps their colours vary ?

| | | Re: Day flying moth identity They can also appear different when their wings become slightly worn and lose some of the intensity of colour.
