Hi Toby,
It looks like a Nettle-tap moth, but a very dark one. Anthophila fabriciana.
There may be others but none quite like this that I know of.

Lol, Jason, looks like Deer Stalker has it. I have looked at so many moths I'm surprised I haven't seen that one, but I could have! Too many moths makes the brain moth-ridden!   |

'fraid so! Yep, I have spent many, many hours searching moths to ID all I got this year. I think I manged to put names to all but a couple of tatty ones! I have nerly 800 pics of moths from April this year! Nightmare!  |
