| | | Grass Moth? Hello one and all .... I was out on the lawn last night, and disturbed one of these moths (they seem everywhere), so I got down on my tummy on the grass and took his pic .... anybody any idea what his official (ie) latin name is? |

| | | Re: Grass Moth? It is a Grass moth (Pyralidae: Crambinae) not sure of the species but it could be a worn Chilo phragmitella, but this is a reedbed species, or could be an Agriphila perhaps inquinatella. |

Obviously, with the naked eye, they all look the same .... |

There are four or five common species of Crambinae, often flying together, although there seems to be some temporal segregation both in date and time of day.
