| | Moth picture. Hi ,
Ok i have just uploaded another picture into the Gallery, i`ve put it in the Gallery because being stupid i still can`t figure out how to put it here.
I have put my reputation on the line, ok what reputation!, but i`m going to say it is a Swallow prominant (Pheosia tremula). I know you are all going to tell me how wrong i am but i don`t care.
By the way any comments on the picture would be welcome, but please be kind.

I removed a small portion of the code so it will not display the image. you can edit your post.

| | | Re: Moth picture. Hi Barney,
Swallow Prominent it is! The photo is good for starters, but I think you'll find you may want to progress. I don't know what camera you are using, or what you actually want from your moth photos, i.e. detail, overall composition, textbook type image etc. but I will certainly be happy to share my experiences with moth photography. Incidentally, I left a tip regarding this matter earlier your other thread.

I will give the image posting another go ,much ablidged.
Thanks Ian for the tips, any advice will be welcome. At the moment i have been trying to portray the moths in different settings to try and make the images more pictorial.
But thats easier said than done
My flash technique leaves a lot to be desired .And i have been struggling to keep the moths where i want then long enough to get a decent picture.

| | | Re: Moth picture. Absolutely Barney, but generally I find that after a while, during a live session, they do tend to settle down enough for a photo. I find the tricky bit is coaxing them onto a decent background, as I like the to have the moth on as plain a background as possible - but that is just my preference.
