Though others have been seeing a few recently I've only seen 1 a couple of weeks back + I'm out most of the time! |

I remember standing on the beach at Littlestone and seeing a large 'cloud' moving rather fast toward me.
It was a HUGE cloud of Silver Y's coming in from the channel!!
I have never seen such huge numbers before or since, sadly.

| | | Re: Unknown Moth/Butterfly ID Needed Please I trapped six of them on Friday night but usually get two or three most trappings. The first this year was four trapped on 27/06/08.
Talking of numbers I had an unbelievable night when I lived in Leamington Spa. We had a big white Buddleia that ran alongside the greenhouse. I was looking out through the kitchen window one night when next doors cat tripped the security light and my attention was suddenly focussed on that bush. It looked alive, movement all over it so I went out to investigate and there were possibly up to a thousand Silver Y's on it. The next day I saw none.
I can possibly understand that happening on the coast or near the coast but in the heart of Britain in one garden, most unusual.
