Couple of moths for id please

I'm fairly sure this first one is a Dusky Thorn, but thought I'd better get an expert's view...

I'm having difficulties with this one though. A Noctuid of some kind I think?

Both were seen last night in Reading.
I also saw a pale moth with two small pink marks on the leading edge of each forewing, but I couldn't get a photo. It rested with its wings spread out like a Geometrid moth. Any ideas?

Hi, I would agree with Dusky Thorn, Square Spot Rustic For number 2, and perhaps Brimstone for 3. Steve

ah cheers steve. Brimstone is definately the one I saw. Square-spot Rustic looks right too

1 Is definitely Dusky thorn.

2 Maybe Square spot rustic.

3 Maybe a late Brimstone moth (2nd generation are usually much smaller than 1st, depending on where you live?)
