Silver Y moth ?

Assume this is a silver Y moth Autographa gamma rather than a golden Y ?

Yes a Silver y

Yes, I believe the "Beautiful Golden Y" is an earlier species - typically June/July on the wing whereas the Silver Y is seen into late autumn.

.....however another very similar species, the "Plain Golden Y" Autographa jota is around until the end of August.

I'm absolutely no moth expert but I do get Autographa sps in my garden and have spent a bit of time trying to identify them.
