I will PM you soon with these, promise!!
Here's one for starters......
Dandelion is a lovely wine and you should just be able to pick enough now to make a gallon.
This recipe is from my mum's books, bless her, I miss her so much.
2 Quarts of Dandelion heads picked at mid-day when it is dry and the flowers are fully open. Use the whole head but no stem. Pour a gallon of boiling water over the flower heads , cover and leave for exactly 2 days. Boil the mixture for 10 minutes with the peel (no pith) of 4 oranges, then strain through muslin onto 2.5lb of sugar. When cool add the juice from the oranges and a culture of dried yeast. Keep in a warm place closely covered, for 4 days. Pour into demijonn and fit airlock. Leave until it clears then siphon off into clean bottles and LEAVE IT ALONE for as long as you can keep yer mitts off!!
A yeast culture is: 1 sachet of ordinary dried yeast placed into half a cup of hot water into which a teaspoon of sugar has been disolved. Stir yeast into this and place cup into a container and pour quite hot water around cup. You will see in about 10 minutes that the yeast has activated and frothed up. Stir this into the liquid and leave. If the reaction is extreme, you may need to remove a little of the liquid. My recent Banana wine almost blew the cork out the reaction was so extreme!
Have fun!

I went to the loo at about 3am and the place was full of moths!
But where do they all go? This morning they'd all (bar one) disappeared???
D. | Well, well. It seems this is nothing new! Apparently leaving the bathroom light on (with window open and door closed) is a tried and tested method of trapping your moths for ID! A reputable "moth site" quotes this method as an acceptable and effective one. Cool, I don't even have to go outside in the wind and rain!

D. | Just hope you don't have a wasp or hornet nest nearby as you'll probably get them visiting too as they seem common in moth traps! |

| | | Re: Moth for ID please I had been using the bedroom light methid for the last 2 years...its works fine but every other insect that comes to a moth trap comes to your bedroom...mosquitos..lacewings...flys...tiny flies...wasps...etc...
Didnt bother me but im sure it wont be for everyone...could take an hour at bedtime trying to catch everything before it was safe to go to sleep!
