| | | Last night's moth trap I found only a small handful of moths this morning, but this was alongside. It doesn't look like a moth to me. Can someone enlighten me please?
This was the only other of note. |

Cheers,
Adam

I am a moth-nut and always pleased to meet another moth-er!

Guy | I go along with Peacock, in the main Tortoiseshells have a lighter and more pronounced underwing pattern.

Nice photo! | I'm afraid it isn't a Small Tortoiseshell which shows a much paler under forewing, but as a couple of others have suggested, it is a Peacock. |

| | | Moth Numbers Hi
Since joining the site I was getting the feeling that it was where I lived (Terraced House on a small estate) was the reason why I did not get many moths, which I am now becoming addicted to(must get out more). I have been leaving the light in the lobby on which attracts a few moths. It looks like I will have to invest in a moth trap. Has anyone any tips for a DIY trap.
thanks
