Moth for ID, please

This was in our bathroom this morning. Sorry for the poor picture quality. The wing span was very roughly 20mm.

In my ignorance I'm guessing that it's some type of Carpet moth, but I'm sure you clever people can tell me what it really is.

Hi I am no expert but it looks like a Green Carpet - Colostygia pectinataria to me but I understand they only fly May to July(?). I am sure an expert will be able to confirm yeah or neigh!

Thanks christina, that's what I thought it might be. Looking at the photos in the Gallery, it does look like a Green Carpet, but as you say it seems to be a bit late in the year for them.

agree Green Carpet and they sometimes have a second generation.

It is a Green carpet, and as said, they can have a second generation although this is usually in the South of the country.

But then, I had an OLd lady in my trap last week!!!

Yep, I have been catching them lately. So far I know I have had two from last night but I haven't opened up the trap yet so I could have more.
