| | | Moth for ID, please
This was in our bathroom this morning. Sorry for the poor picture quality. The wing span was very roughly 20mm.
In my ignorance I'm guessing that it's some type of Carpet moth, but I'm sure you clever people can tell me what it really is.
Thanks,
Pete |

| | | Re: Moth for ID, please Hi I am no expert but it looks like a Green Carpet - Colostygia pectinataria to me but I understand they only fly May to July(?). I am sure an expert will be able to confirm yeah or neigh!

| | | Re: Moth for ID, please Thanks christina, that's what I thought it might be. Looking at the photos in the Gallery, it does look like a Green Carpet, but as you say it seems to be a bit late in the year for them. |

| | | Re: Moth for ID, please It is a Green carpet, and as said, they can have a second generation although this is usually in the South of the country.
Lucky you and a lovely shot too! Well done!

I really enjoy following the http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/fo...hs-2008-a.html thread. I can see why some people are fascinated by moths, and I hope to learn more about them in the future. |
