Unidentified Moth
I took this photo on 25th July 2008. I was parking my car and saw this moth sitting in a tree. I took the pic from the drivers seat of my car. As soon as I opened the door the moth flew off. I've never seen this species before and would appreciate an ID.

Many thanks for the ID. I've only ever seen this type of moth once. How common are they in Northern Ireland?

I'll second that. I have only ever seen one of these and that was at the Rutland Birdfair two years ago.
