I had this down as the brown house moth (Hofmannophila pseudospretella) but after reading keenteens post about bryotropha domestica and whether it has a common name then doing a little google on it im not so sure. confirmation either way gratefully recieved!

Looks to me like a worn Brown House-moth. If you look at the spots on the two species mentioned, the BHM has three spots in the form of of an isosceles triangle pointing down the wing towards the tip, as yours has.
The B. domestica has four dots in a row along the length of the wing.
