| | | Moth for ID I find these small brown ones difficult. Could anyone point me in the right direction.
I came up with two possibilities - Common Rustic or Small Clouded Brindle but wasn't really convinced by either. Not sure the photo/specimen is the best either - sorry.
Thanks again folks.

| | | Re: Moth for ID Thanks for the suggestion Jason. It looks very similar to the one you ID'd that was posted by Cheryl earlier today. http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/fo...1154-moth.html
They do get difficult when they get a bit worn (my excuse for not being very good at ID'ing moths!)

Try THIS for worn!! I think it's an underwing; maybe Copper or Red by the lower featherage. This one has torn feathers and worn-off marked scales! |

Sorry, I didn't read your suggestions for ID - too quick I suppose - Common Rustic looks good given the dashes under the white 'dots'. |

| | | Re: Moth for ID I'd go for Common or Scarce rustic.
Bernard Skinner tells me that Scarce rustic have the small dots either side of the reniform stigma which tells it apart from the Common rustic (and I can't argue that!!).
