Not sure about the butterfly, Ian (maybe a Common Blue?), but the moth definitely seems to be Zygaena filipendulae, the Six-Spot Burnet .... |

| | | Re: A moth and a butterfly... Thanks Imaginos  Looks like it's a Common Blue then for a Large one would have a fair old hefty journey on its hands (or wings should I say) to fly from the West Country to Hampshire!
