But amazed also at your buddlia and that around my local area. Budlias are still tight buds not even swollen. Own micro climate in garden I think called 5- every where else. |

| | | Re: Hummingbird Hawkmoth I had a humming bird hawk moth 2 years ago but not had one since and my budleia is still in tight bud. Not had many Butterflies either. It was the Humingbird hawk moth that sparked my interest in wild life. At the time there were 200 reported in Staffordshire.

| | | Re: Hummingbird Hawkmoth Not seen Hummingbird hawks yet this year. Nice pic though!!
Budleias are already resorting to seed heads in my neck of the woods!
Have noticed an abundance of cabbage whites today going bananas over me Purple sprouting and Nasturtiums though !!
Luckily, I have hidden the winter Purple sprouting and Brussells so they haven't got them.... yet!

| | | Re: Hummingbird Hawkmoth I have only ever had one brief 30 second visit by one in my garden last year. I have seen plenty abroad and was always amazed at just how small they were.
The Buddleia in my garden is in various stages. Some are not even close to opening up whilst some are in full bloom.

| | | Re: Hummingbird Hawkmoth Think they're interesting creatures.
This is a photo of the second one I've ever seen and it was in my garden! Thankfully it waited for me to get my camera!
This was taken back in 2004 and I haven't seen one since! I keep hoping.
