Drowned rat, no it's a moth
Pulled this fellow out of the water today. I think he's a Small Elepant hawk moth but the coloring is a bit wrong. Any ideas

Yo Sticky i'm pretty sure you're right.I just think you saved a very bedraggled specimem.

Just had a look in my book. It could be a Small elephant hawkmoth. Hope that helps. ww
