You should get Marbled Whites Melanargia galathea in you area in the right habitat, we get them up here in quite good numbers, this year seemed good for them.

The deathshead hawk moth sightings are realy frequent now as far as scotland here is a map of reported sightings... 3nts ago i had one flapping about in my caravan it was huge i tried to catch it but it squeaked and freaked me out got away... i think beginning of july to end august is your best chance to see one in all its glory...
