| | | Moth ID and Darter to boot! The first 2 are of a moth found clinging to our back door step this morning. I persauded it to go somewhere safer. Studing thr image taken with flash the contours are strangely face/mask like. What is it please?
Just for fun I've included a quick shot of a Darter taken this morning whilst out in the sunshine with the dog. It came along, gave my leg the once over then rested for a few seconds on my boot before departing. I'm pleased I had the camera . |

| | | Re: Moth ID and Darter to boot! Thanks for the responses. The moth didn't seem very lively but I hope it emerges fully. |

I had great fun earlier this year catching and identifying moths |

| | | Re: Moth ID and Darter to boot! I agree. Most things provided by nature, moths, butterflies, fungii and flowers, in particular, are extremely attractive especially when photographed and studied later, I wouldn't have appreciated the moth in the same way by purely relying on remembered observation.
Moths seem to turn up unexpectedly, during the year I twice found one in my cap, which I hang outside the back door - on one ocassion after I'd put it on! |
