| | | 1st Moth ID's! Morning Everyone!
My first attempted ID of this moth is a Setaceous Hebrew Character...
And the second picture....my guess is Common Quaker
Now tell me I'm wrong!!!! I expect I am way off the mark!

Cheers Jacob | The Lunar Underwings in my trap are starting to age now - lots of bald thoraxes (happens to us all, I guess!) The species to cause confusion with the Lunars, Jacob, is the Beaded Chestnut, so be on your guard!

I know I have caught at least six of them last night (3 in the fridge and three I can see inside the trap so far) in 5 hours.

John | I wonder where they are coming from then John as cypresses + occasionally junipers are the larval food plants. This is certainly one species that has expanded due to the many conifers in gardens, though climate could also be a factor. |

I ended up with seven last night with the bonus of a couple of cracking Red-green Carpets.
