| | | Re: Moths for ID please Hi, nice catch. I'm not a moth expert, but certainly had an interest in them for a few years. I think:
1 is a Caddis fly species
2 Flame Carpet?
3 + 6 Riband Wave
7 Flame shoulder |

I've got a couple more photos from the other night. Can you help? |

agree with the rest on the first lot of photos.
The last two are Large Yellow Underwing and Purple thorn.

I've got a couple more photos from the other night. Can you help? | For the macromoths (all those you've included photos of) I recommend:
Field Guide to the Moths of GB + Ireland by Townsend/Waring with excellent plates by Lewington (British Wildlife Publishing)
Also now available as a concise version, which has all same species, but much reduced text, + the advantage in the field of the text opposite the plates, unlike in the original meaty version. I've know got both as I like the extra info in first + like convenience of concise version. |

| | | Re: Moths for ID please Thanks for that - I hadn't realised there was a new concise version of the Waring moths - excellent news it will save me wearing out my nice signed copy of the full version!
