| | | Garden moth Identifications please Hi
As promised, here are the pictures of the moths caught in our first night's trapping earlier this week. I apologize for the variable quality of the images - I am coming to terms with the new camera and lens. The identifications are based on eyeballing the images in Waring and Townsend. Some of them I could not do at all. Any help will be gratefully received.......thanks

7. A raggy Large Yellow Underwing
8. Dun-Bar.....
9. Huge guess....Marbled Beauty....
10. And no idea at all....
If you have made it to here......more thanks.

9 looks like a Willow Beauty, look at the tapered cross band.
10 looks like a Bee Moth - a micro

I had 6 as uncertain initially but then convinced myself otherwise. As to the other two - I really had no idea.
Very many thanks for the confirmations.
Hope it stops raining soon.....

Cheers,
Adam | I agree with Adam on these two. Regarding the Suspected. This will have to go down as a Rustic agg I'm afraid as it would be too difficult to separate certain species that fall into this catergory.

Thanks for the additional info - rustic agg. it is. How does one separate them? Aside of getting a better picture. This is problem as once out of the trap they are off! How do you do it - you have some amazing images.
Regards

Jon | Unfortunately the most reliable is genitalia dissection.
