Moth from Oxford Island

I took this photo of a moth on June 11th 2007 at Oxford Island, N.Ireland. It was resting on a nettle leaf in a shaded woodland area beside Lough Neagh. ID anyone?

I'd say it's a Caddis Fly rather than a moth, looks a bit like Philopotamus montanus from the book but I'm not sure if you can always id them positively to species level.
Nice shot as well!

yeh its a caddis fly not sure which species, im not to sure that it is Philopotamus montanus though it looks different.

Looking at it, neither am I actually. The markings on Philopotamus montanus look much brighter and more defined. Probably another species.

yeh thats what i was thinking the colors are wrong, unfortunatly i dont have a very indepth guide of caddis flies so am struggling here

It just shows you how bad I am at identification. I cannot even tell the difference between a moth and a caddis fly!
