| | | Sycamore moth Got home from work one night list week and found this chap on my front dooor frame...
I thumbed through Collins Complete British Insects and I think the Sycamore (middle of the top three on page 249) is the closest match although there are a few other possibilities, including Poplar Grey and The Miller. After making a preliminary identification I normally search the Gallery for other members images to confirm it, but there aren't any Sycamore images apart from Fourwings and Gwenhwyfar's excellent caterpillar shots. If anyone can confirm or correct this ID that would be great!
This is my favourite shot of him. I think he looks like a bull about to charge...
