| | | Re: id butterfly or moth I can't find any pictures anywhere because I think they're very rare, but it could be a form of Cinnabar Moth where the wings are pure orangey red with a black front margin.
Someone may know where to find a picture of one of these Cinnabar Moths, otherwise I'll have to scan in a picture from the waring moth book.

| | | Re: id butterfly or moth hi to both replies, will look up the names you sugested. The shape off it was a more like a butterfly, It came out off some ivy that is growing up an old tree stump which is about 3ft high and a bech hedge behind it
,My husband caught the tree stump and out it flew,It was amazing the orange on both wings with the jet black along the top edge off the upper wing no other markings. just orange and black.

| | | Re: id butterfly or moth Hi looked up the cinaar moth, purple edge copper, scarce copper, it is not any off those, sorry to say,
The best way to describe it is like an Orange tip, But were that one is white mine was orange with a black on upper wing edge only, the black edge was not as deep as the orange on the the orange tip.
