| | | Wainscot ID please Trapped in Hants 28.07.12 :
Trailing edge too straight for Common Wainscot or Blair`s. Ditto Large Wainscot (too early in the year also?). I wasn`t able to see the hindwings which might have helped, but, with the curve on the leading edge, I am guessing Striped. However, my shot shows two spots which, according to Townsend and Waring “Concise Guide…”, and UK Moths website, Striped doesn`t seem to have. So, perhaps, Smoky?
Many thanks

| | | Re: Wainscot ID please Thanks for the suggestion, Rob, but UK Moths shows it as more spotted than my pic and the illustration in the "Concise Guide" has the trailing edge of Southern more angled and pointed, so I am still not sure.
