Many thanks Martin, appreciate it mate, I was also very pleased last week when my Bittern shot was picked as the shot of the week on Birdguides, that really did come as a surprise.
You missed absolutely nothing, Peregrine attacking a Lapwing in the distance, too far for photography. That was about it!
Nice to meet up with Nic though, now she's a new Mother and all that, she's looking well. Met up with Dennis also.
Well..................bit of a git about having to cancel the xmas meal, think I'll try and organise something in the New Year, once the weather has improved, shame as there would've been 10 of us in total.
Nice to see you've been out today, speak soon bud,
Yeh likewise Martin, great to finally meet you, I think Sandy Balls or whatever it was called was the icing on the cake for the day, what a bunch of profesionals we are!
Good O about Saturday for the xmas meal, I'll be in touch to confrm nearer the date.
Hi Martin, well now I'm glad I didn't go down after all, I'll try and find out what it is going to be like this weekend but looking at the forecast today it looks pretty dull light wise. Combine that with the lakes frozen and paths iced up, I could do a sixty mile round trip for nothing.
I'll wait til nearer the weekend to decide
Hi Martin, went to Dryslywn castle on the way home from work yesterday. I climbed up the motte to the ruins but nothing around and I wasn't really expecting to see the Black Redstart, I didn't, so no upset there. Nearly broke my neck in the ice on the way down. There where a load of Widgeon on the Tywi and the usual suspects at the feeders in the car park. I did meet the couple who fill the feeders, I thought it was some locals from Dryslywn but they live in Carmarthen and travel out every other day (at the moment) to fill the feeders up. Now that's dedication for you, filling bird feeders up 10 miles away!
Hey nice Snipe pics by the way, hoping to get down tommorow, I say hopefully as I've been iced in ALL day! See what happens tonight.
