It was good to meet you at last Wayne. We stayed about an hour in that hide but it got too crowded after a while, managed to get a couple of tidy shots of the Kingfisher, but nothing else of note showed.
Next time I am down the centre I will visit the Michael Powell hide.I have been spending quite a lot of my time hiding behind the willow screens opposite the P/Scott hide. The staff have put a couple of nice perches in, and the light in the afternoon is superb..well when the sun is out anyway, but so far not a whisper.
Oh Wayne, you have to go, even if you don't win, its the chance of a lifetime. And if you win and are not there...it doesn't bare thinking about.
Who said "I have never met anybody on their deathbed who has said to me, I wish I had spent more time in the office" ?
Is it true Wayne?..I was talking to somebody in the wetland centre today who told me your photo took the regional winners prize, in the wetlands/Nikon photographic comp. I didn't get a chance to see it myself, but well done...I will keep my fingers crossed for you for the overall prize... Congrats..
Thanks for the comment on the Egret, yea, it was the Peter scott hide...though got some of a kingfisher yesterday from one of the pontoons around the side. Not good enough to put on here though.
Am looking forward to seeing the Ibis, haven't seen any myself, do they visit often, would have thought not myself and you just got lucky...or do they show often down here?
Wil try and get down to the wetland centre on Thursday, but at the moment it looks as if I am going to have to work..weather is getting better later in the week for you though.
PS Had a quick play this morning in Photoshop and managed a copy of the original which looks better for it! I might have to take back what I said about Photoshop after all!! Time presses this morning - but I will tidy the original up - or maybe begin right from scratch with the unaltered one and see if I can't improve it - thanks Wayne - you're a pal!!
