Howdy Veng' Just a quick post. I've just got back from a trip to Norfolk and called at Redgrave and Lopham Fen and was really fortunate to see a Fen raft spider (Dolomedes Plantarius). Coming back home and doing a bit of net research, got me wondering, how can these be told apart from the very similar Dolomedes fimbriatus?
I was chuffed with this sighting as a warden there told me they are very elusive and rarely seen.
hi there, just saw your profile - you love spiders - great, me too! - they need all the fans they can get as they are so hated by many people for no real reason!
i guess your another saver of lives then (ie you rescue spiders and other so called creepy crawlies from those monsters) ( ie big peoples shoes and hoovers!)
Hi Venger,
I know you just love the Spiders and I've got a couple I've posted in the forum called 'Please ID Big Fat Spiders'. Dogghound posted his thoughts, but wondered if there was someone who could confirm them.
Many thanks.
PS: On a lighter note, what sort of illustrations do you do?

Hi there. Yes, thank you, I've found out since its the brown tailed moth caterpillar. Can sometimes cause skin reactions so its usually destroyed. Apparrently its quite unusual to have such a large infestation. Cheers.
